Republican Immigration Debate: Bush v. Reagan

As the debate heats up again within the Republican party regarding what to do with individuals and families who are present in the United States without valid authorization, it is instructive to see how far right the party has drifted in the last three decades.

Not too long ago, candidates George Bush and Ronald Reagan were strong advocates of compassionate immigration policy and welcoming border policy.

Does this party still exist today? Wonder if Reagan will recognize his party today.
